Fan Management Consulting;
Script, & Development Services
PhD Film and Digital Media, MA English Literature, BA English Literature
I understand fans and fan networks. I understand story, script, industry practice, and a film or television program's commercial appeal. By combining my skills in these two areas, I have a unique and informed perspective on the new and emerging realm of digital media, interactive audiences, and event film adaptation.
I am available to consult on traditional script development, and also on projects with an existing (and potentially vociferous and intimidating) fan base. I can assist on all levels of text creation and adaptation to cultivate a fan base, and manage the existing fans from inception to casting, script development, production, merchandising, and marketing, through to premieres and DVD releases.
My PhD research focused on utilizing the loyalty and power of the existing fan base in event film adaptation in a digital age. This included an analysis of the techniques used to manage and work with the fans in financially successful films, and establishing successful protocol to consider the fan in all stages of the adaptation process. This could include casting, crew, and location decisions, script analysis and fan expectation. I also examined the filmmakers' use of the fan and the involvement of the fan before, during, and after an adaptation's production, and studying the marketing techniques used that ensure fans' continued support and enthusiasm.
